Minutes

Call to Order: President, Jodie, called the meeting to order.

Treasurer’s Report:  Colleen presented the Treasurer’s report and reported expenses and receipts of the Omaha Bead Bazaar.

Librarian’s Report: Nan reported a check was received for fire damage of NBS library books.
Omaha Bead Bazaar     Jodie thanked all members who volunteered at the Bazaar.
Upcoming Meetings:             
May 16, 2013              making charitable items from donated beads, or bring unfinished projects.

Officer Election: A committee consisting of Mona Jenkins and Mary Reifschneider was formed to present a slate of officers.

Molly Murphy Adams: A bead artist is in residence at the Great Plains Art Museum, 1155 Q Street, Lincoln, NE from April 23 to May 3, 2013.

Adjournment:
As there was no further business, the business meeting was adjourned.  Jodie presented a demonstration of wire wrapped loops and “pearl explosions”.

Meeting This Thursday!!

7:00, Eastmont Towers, 2nd Floor!

We will be doing some wire-wrapping.  Basic wrapped loops.  Please bring tools:  a couple of round-nose pliers, or one round-one-chain-nose, a crimper and flush cutters.  Do not worry if you do not have all the tools.  I will bring a couple of extra!  Also, bring some beads :)  And headpins.  No sterling if you are a beginner.  The cheap ones from the craft store are fine :)

Call to Order: President, Jodie, called the meeting to order.

Treasurer’s Report:  Colleen presented the Treasurer’s report.  The balance includes deposits for the April Bead Bazaar.  Coleen listed the vendors she has received deposits from.  She also shared communication she had received about an Alaska bead cruise Sept. 6-13, 2013 through www.tradewindgallery.com


Librarian’s Report: Nan reported on the purchase of two new books:
Beautiful Beaded Ropes by Jill Wiseman and
The Spirit of Bead Embroidery by Heidi Kummli

Upcoming bead shows:
Omaha Bead Bazaar     April 13, 2013, 9am to 4pm
3534 South 108th Street, Omaha, NE
Members signed up for times to volunteer at the Omaha show.  Members are encouraged to purchase lunch from the vendor at the Westside Community Center.

Nebraska Bead Society Minutes of January 17, 2013 Meeting

Call to Order: President, Jodie, called the meeting to order.

New Business:  The group voted to invite Jill Wiseman to be a guest teacher for the NBS in 2014.  Jill is the author of Beautiful Beaded Ropes.   Her website is at http://www.tapestrybeads.com/

Meeting!

This Thursday, please join us at the Lux Center for the Arts, at 2601 North 48th Street, in University Place.  They are hosting a variety of jewelers selling their beautiful creations!  We will have our business meeting on the upper level of the Lux at 7:00, then heading downstairs to view (and possibly purchase:) the artwork.  Isn't it fun to be going on a field trip?  Hope to see you there!
