NBS Minutes January 2014

January 16, 2014

Call to Order: President, Joan, called the meeting to order.

Treasurer’s Report:  Colleen presented the Treasurer’s report.

Omaha Bead Bazaar:  April reported on vendors signed up for the Omaha Bead Bazaar, April 12, 2014.  The Publicity Committee will communicate and decide if we should use one or both rooms of the Westside Community Center.

Lincoln Bead Bazaar: The date will be October 18, 2014

Upcoming Events:
Jade Dog; Tucson Trunk Show
Friday, February 28th 2-6pm
Saturday, March 1 10am-3pm
Hot Shops, 1301 Nicholas, Studio #314, Omaha

April reported that Eastmont has asked for donations for a silent auction.  The proceeds will be used for the Monarch Hospice.  Items are needed by the middle of March and can be brought to the February meeting.

Future Workshops: At the last Board meeting it was decided to re-contact Marcia Decoster about the possibility of coming to Lincoln as a guest artist.   Decoster reports that she is cutting back on traveling and would no longer be able to teach at the NBS.  As an alternative,  Jenny suggested we have one or both of the following teachers:

Members may suggest other teachers at the February meeting.

As there was no further business, the business meeting was adjourned.  Kim presented a class on making a butterfly bracelet.
